Is intelligent - intellect the same?

Mind is not your intelligence

It may sound strange but this is a truth, that mind is not your intelligence. Mind can be intellectual, which is a very poor substitute for intelligence.

The intellect is absolutely bankrupt. It has nothing of its own, all is borrowed. And that´s the difference between intelligence and intellect. Intelligence has an eyesight of its own, a capacity to see into things, into problems. Intelligence is your born quality.

Intelligence is the growth of inner consciousness. It has nothing to do with knowledge.Intellect dissects, analyses. It is the instrument of science. Intelligence is a natural phenomenon just as breathing is, just as seeing is. It is your very being, your very nature. An intelligent man looks into life and whatsoever is there he is ready to see it. He has no barriers to his vision; his vision is transparent. An intelligent person has the ability to think, understand and has the ability to learn with the available resources provided to him.

What is your idea..

Sowmya

Hi Sowmya,

I am impressed with your analysis in your blog over difference between intellect and intelligence.

I crave intellect and befriend those with good intellect. interestingly i have nt seen many intellectual females except having heard about ayn rhand. no offence. just an observation out of my limited interactions with people.

i was wondering if you think about global issues and try to gain a a global view of every issue that happens on a personal level.

cheers
samudra

You state, "no offence" yet your comment is offencive. How tragic that your "limited interactions" have been devoid of intellectual females... No doubt there are many! Just prior to reading your post, I had gratiously thanked a friend for introducing me to a friend of his that is employed by Apple. I (yes, female and straight) was actually able to carry on a very geeky tech conversation with him for about an hour or so. Usually, most people look at me with that silly, quizzical expression as if I were trying to communicate using some strange language! So although you have not encountered intellectual females in your "limited interactions", I assure you, there are many.
